I often get asked, “What got you interested in aesthetic medicine?”The answer might surprise you—because it all started with a reality TV show.
A Life-Changing Episode
One evening in Korea, I was watching a reality show where a broadcasting company offered full plastic surgery to participants. The most fascinating part was that the woman on the show agreed to document every step of her transformation—from consultation, to surgery, to recovery.
As I followed her journey, I couldn’t help but be drawn in. She was so open and brave throughout the process. And then came the moment that truly changed something in me:
After the surgeries were complete, she revealed her new face to her husband. His reaction was unforgettable—he was completely astonished. Not because she looked like a different person, but because she looked so beautiful and full of confidence. It was deeply emotional, and for me, it was eye-opening.

We only get one life—let’s treat ourselves with the care we deserve.
That episode shifted something in my mind. I began to see aesthetic medicine not as vanity, but as empowerment—a way for people to feel better in their own skin. That moment planted a seed that would eventually grow into a deep passion.
Why Aesthetic Medicine Makes Sense Today
There are two big reasons why more people are drawn to skincare and aesthetic treatments today—and I’ve experienced both firsthand.
1. Technology Has Changed Everything
Modern aesthetic medicine is nothing like it was 20 years ago. We now have advanced technologies that deliver real results without going under the knife. From laser treatments to skin boosters and collagen-stimulating procedures, people can now enhance their appearance with non-invasive or minimally invasive options—no surgery, no long downtime, and very natural-looking results.
This innovation has opened the door for so many people who were once hesitant or afraid.
2. Post-Pandemic Skin Awakening
After the pandemic, many of us started to re-evaluate how we take care of ourselves—physically, mentally, and emotionally. With all that time spent at home (and on Zoom), people became more aware of their skin.
Suddenly, skincare wasn’t just a beauty routine—it became a part of wellness.
More and more people began seeking ways to manage and maintain their skin, not just treat problems when they arise. This shift toward prevention and care is exactly what aesthetic medicine is all about.
What I’ve Learned Since Then
Since that first spark of interest, I’ve studied and explored the field with growing excitement. What I love most is that aesthetic medicine isn't about chasing perfection—it's about helping people feel confident, refreshed, and like the best version of themselves.
It’s not just about how we look—it’s how we feel. And that’s powerful.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes, one moment can change the direction of your life. For me, that reality show was the beginning of a journey into a world where science meets beauty, and where care meets confidence. Whether it’s a small laser treatment or a customized skincare routine, I believe aesthetic medicine has the power to uplift people—not just externally, but emotionally, too.
And I’m so grateful to be part of that journey.
